Competitive spirits flowed at Cranbrook School’s 2016 Sports Day last Saturday as house teams battled for sporting glory – and the sun even managed to shine too!
In fact, conditions were almost perfect at Bigside as pupils and parents gathered for the school’s annual celebration of sporting finesse during a morning of track and field events that saw records broken and victors emerge triumphant.
From keenly-fought relay races and flat-out 100 metre sprints to soaring long-jump contests and uplifting high-jump challenges – there was action aplenty under welcome blue skies and it was captured by our roving camera crew for inclusion in a short film about Cranbrook School.
The CSPA provided a perfect pick-me-up for parents and athletes with welcome refreshments and a table full of delicious treats baked by Cranbrook School mums, who deserve a medal for their efforts and expertise.
A big thank-you to one and all who rolled up their sleeves and contributed cakes and biscuits. This set the seal on the most satisfying of occasions and helped the CSPA raise £160 – and sell £70 of Cranbrook School merchandise too. What a result!
Hip-hip-Hoorah to all who:
Baked cakes!
Tended the stalls!
Bought and ate cakes!
Bought merchandise!
Cheered along!
Full marks to our school photographers Aurum Lai and Will Booth, both from Year 10, who took this superb selection of action shots from the event.
